The “Arene Candide” Cave is one of Europe’s most important cave thanks to the famous discoveries happened inside it.We’re going to take a journey back in time, starting from today, back to 30.000 years ago, it will be possible to retrace the compelling researches conducted inside the cave for almost 150 years. The traces of human presence span from the upper Paleolithic (30.000 years ago) to the Byzantine era (VI-VII A.D.), that’s what make this cave so interesting: nowadays it’s still one of the most complex and complete archeological stratigraphy of the Mediterranean, thanks to the environmental context extremely favorable to relics preservation.
Where: Meeting Point at at the entrance gate of the archaeological area at the indicated times (maximum 30 people per shift)
Access route: park in Borgio (railway station / level crossing area). From the Borgio Verezzi level crossing, follow the signs and take (on foot) Via Verezzi – Via della Cornice – Strada Napoleonica. Length 2 km, about 30 minutes walking.

- Guided tour full price ticket: 10,00 €
- Reduced price ticket: 5,00 € (children up to 10 years, over65, IISL members, ICOM members, Touring Club Italiano members, university students with student ID).
Those who have visited the Archaeological Museum of Finale at full price can purchase the price reduced ticket (5.00€) to visit the Cave. Conversely, Cave visitors with full price ticket can purchase a reduced price ticket (3.00€) to visit the Archaeological Museum of Finale.
Reservation at +39.019.690020, that guarantees priority. In case of rain visit will be suspended.
Equipment: Appropriate shoes and outfit are recommended, it is also recommended to bring water.
